Mont Saint Michel Abbey
In 966, Benedictins settled on the Mount and developed the monastery. The Mont Saint Michel became a popular pilgrimage site for western Christians and an important medieval cultural centre where many sacred manuscripts were produced and conserved.
Self-guided and commented tours are organised everyday. Visitors can learn of the history of the abbey from the 11th century to the present day and marvel at this medieval architectural masterpiece which boasts three different styles : Roman, Gothic and perpendicular Gothic.
