The ramparts at Mont Saint Michel
During your visit to Mont Saint Michel you can discover the impressive work carried out by architects and builders from the Middle Ages when you walk along the ramparts between the 14th and 15th century strongholds and towers.
The oldest fortifications in the medieval village were built in the 13th century to protect the sanctuary. They were then reinforced during the Hundred Year War.
Today the ramparts at Mont Saint Michel are intact and offer visitors a fabulous view over the bay and the tides that invade the bay twice a day.
